This is a gorgeous Rutilated Brazilian Quartz Shaman's Window Crystal Point. Shown next to a US quarter coin for size comparison. It has been here charging with Synergy for 15+ years and is finally ready to go out into the world.
The Rutiles are pale gold in color, and a 'bloom" of Hematite is visible in the back, plus delicate washes/veils of it in/around other parts of the crystal. See below the measurements for more info on Shaman's Windows and their inclusions. The crystal itself is A quality, with a high level of clarity surrounding the inclusions. A special addition to any collection, to be sure.
It is much nicer 'in person', I guarantee it! Check out how it works with subtle energies below! It does stand up on its own. The back side of the Shaman's Window screen has been left more organic vs faceted and polished smooth. There are some small organic spots here and there where Rutiles/other inclusions were close to the surface as the stone was shaped and polished. Including in/around the edges/points. ALL inclusions present come from 100% natural formations in the crystal.
It measures about 1 3/16" inches tall X just under 1 3/16" inches wide across the base. Code-062524-210
Quartz is often said to be the crystal or "stone" that everyone needs to start with. Quartz is the most recognized type of crystal and is what many people think of when they hear the word crystal, although there are many, many different types of crystals in all kinds of stones.
Quartz can be as clear as ice (ancients called quartz ‘Holy Ice’ and thought that it came from the heavens) or milky white.
It can have inclusions, veils, bubbles, unusual formations, etc. Clarity is not important for the energetic quality of a quartz crystal, and in fact, inclusions and impurities can make the crystal much more energetic, and increase its ability to store and amplify subtle energies. Without a few 'imperfections, the energy is often not as intense. Lab crystals are grown with impurities on purpose, and depending on the type and placement, those impurities will change the frequency that the crystal oscillates/vibrates at.
Quartz in any form is a powerful stone. Quartz can store energy, amplify it, focus it, transmit it, transform it, balance it, absorb it… Various types and formations are better for some things than others.
Quartz has long been used to direct and amplify thoughts and intentions. All thoughts are a form of energy and strong intentions will shape and affect subtle energies. Because of this, quartz can be useful for healing work, meditation, protection, and manifesting and channeling.
Quartz is thought to store information of all types and make it available again for retrieval. The idea behind this is that information is simply another form: an energy pattern. Quartz may be held directly on the third eye to increase clairvoyance abilities: help with the clarity of a vision.
Indigenous Healers. Medicine people and other crystal healers use quartz to perceive and communicate with Higher Beings, other realms, in dream work, for scrying or crystal gazing, perceiving Devas (Nature Spirits) and other kinds of spirits.
In the right hands, Quartz may be used to dispel and clear negative energies. For example, Tabular or 'flat' quartz is used to protect against harmful vibrations and even a directed psychic attack. It absorbs the dark energy and must be cleared regularly.
In Crystal Healing, Quartz is said to be effective for chronic fatigue, arthritis, depression, bone ailments and gastrointestinal troubles. It is also used to improve mental and physical stamina.
Clear quartz is associated with the crown Chakra, but in the hands of someone skilled and focused, may also be used to energize all of the Chakras.
Rutilated Quartz Crystals - Rutiles or Rutilations are growths inside of a crystal that look like tiny golden hairs or wheat colored "needles." Some people call these growths "Angel Hair" and believe that they support spiritual growth, increased awareness and a stronger conscious connection to ones Guide. Highly prized for their healing energies, these crystals are used by Indigenous healers to balance energy and repel negative energies and entities.
It is also thought to ease transitions and stabilize relationships and marriages, by supporting self-reliance, emotional healing and emotional balance.
This type of crystal is also thought to bring emotional strength and stability, as well as enhance calm reasoning.
Rutiliated quartz is a good choice when meditating on the root cause of an issue or ailment.
In Crystal Healing, it has been used to lessen depression and fear, and assist with decision-making.
It is believed to support the immune system and the body's ability to heal. It is also used for respiratory and lung issues.
Rutilated quartz is associated with the Solar Plexus Chakra.
Hematite (sometimes spelled Hemetite). Hematite is a must for anyone interested in working with crystals and stones. It is said to assist in grounding and calming and in manifesting Divine Light in your life. It deflects and dissolves negative energies.
Hematite is said to help one to 'sort things out' and can be used for memory enhancement, original thinking and technical knowledge. Hematite, especially in its natural crystalline form, is traditionally thought to bring peace, self-control and inner happiness.
It is a calming energy and is said to attract "kind" love and act as a stabilizing force.
In Crystal Healing, it is used to calm the nerves, for insomnia, and to align the spine and speed the mending of broken bones. Some Indigenous healers have used it with blood disorders. Hematite is associated with the root (base) Chakra.
Shaman's Window Crystal aka Scenic Quartz is a piece of quartz crystal with unusual organic looking inclusions inside that form patterns and shapes that can create a sort of screen or focal point.
This focal point can be used for scrying or crystal gazing. They can be useful in scrying for past life information.
The inclusions are usually
Chlorite: green, cream or tan/gold;
Kaolinite: white, cream, tan, grey, yellow, or light orange.
Hematite: grays, silvers, blacks, browns, reds, oranges or golds;
Rainbows formed from refraction and inclusions;
Phantoms that have formed in layers;
They may also contain rutiles and, rarely, tourmaline needles.
Without slicing or crushing the crystal and then testing the minerals, it's impossible to know for sure what the inclusions are that form the 'scenes' inside the crystals. For example, white, gold and orange inclusions can be Kaolinite or Chlorite or Hematite.
In recent years, these formations are also known as: garden quartz, landscape quartz, and
under the trade names of Lodolite, Lodelite or Lodalite.
Any way you spell it, Lodelite is a strangely unappealing name for something potentially very beautiful, since the literal translation means "mud stone" or "sludge" stone - from Spanish lodo = mud, sludge. Lodolite is NOT a type a quartz: it is a trade name.
In the last year or so, there has been a rash of brightly colored "garden quartz" sold that is not natural. It appears that the same kind of high pressure dying is used to treat a less colorful piece of quartz.
**Shaman's window quartz is not to be confused with "Time Window" quartz: they are two separate types of crystals, with very different properties.
Native legends speak of crystal skulls as an inheritance from ancient times. Said to “talk and sing” they are believed to carry messages for all mankind, including what may be discovered when we overcome our fear of death.
