A Mandala is meant to serve as a tool on our spiritual journey. It is a journey that is taking place over lifetimes. The meaning of the word Mandala in Sanskrit is circle. We are born, live and die as humans, on this planet, again and again. We slowly begin to gain the wisdom and consciousness, to make choices that help further our growth. Having conscious knowledge of our challenges can speed the process.
