This is an incredibly amazing, HUGE, Brazilian Amethyst Geode Crystal skull. The 2nd largest Amethyst Geode skull we've ever had. She weighs approximately 26lbs 7.3oz. Fabulous! It normally retails for $11,000+ dollars.
We generally don't name skulls that are seeking their new caretakers. That is something that we feel is a special experience between crystal skull and caretaker. But in some rare cases a name is so strong that we will include it. That is the case with this crystalline being, whose name is ZAILA.
She weighs approximately 26lbs 7.3oz / 12kgs and measures 11 5/8" inches long X 8 1/2" inches wide at the widest point X 8 1/2" inches tall at the tallest point. Code020623-20698
The Amethyst has several beautiful shades of purple mixed together and runs all the way through the center of the skull - you can see completely through it from some angles! The Amethyst fades into a Quartz + Agate "rind". The "rind", or outer shell, on this particular Geode was heavily made up of Agate, which is visible throughout as dark blue-grey with nice banding in lighter blue-grey shades, white/cream, and hints of golden yellow/orange. Interesting spots and swirls are all through the Agate. Tiny brown and black DENDRITIC inclusions are mixed into the Agate in several places. Though they can resemble tiny plant-life, they are made up of Iron (brown) or Manganese (black).
The Amethyst crystals inside the giant VUG in the middle of the skull have such beautiful sparkle! Many have a gradient effect in their coloring - lighter purple in the base, going into darker purple at the points. Some have reddish orange HEMATITE inclusions visible, while others have tiny shimmery areas and/or hints of rainbow sheen that show up in bright light as you move the stone around in your hands. There is an especially nice stripe of Hematite in/around the left side of the teeth, running down towards the back of the jaw.
Photos can NOT possibly show how stunning this skull is (although we do our best to bring the vibration across!). It is so much nicer 'in person'!
Besides the vugs, and the edges of the vugs, there are some small organic spots here and there from inclusions that were close to the surface as the skull was shaped. They may resemble pinpricks, small notches, or fine lines on the surface of the stone. ALL inclusions present come from 100% natural formations within the stone. The carver worked with the natural shape of the Geode throughout the entire piece.
Geodes are used to assist in effective communication and are said to facilitate astral travel. They are also thought to aid in the study of mathematics.
Amethyst is a stabilizing energy, thought to assist in learning to trust your connection to the Divine and acknowledge the Guidance received. It brings calm, inner peace, courage and balance. In this way, it can be useful in divination.
It also supports and assists in stopping self abuse. It has often been used as protection for travelers.
Amethyst is also associated with Angels and is an excellent stone for meditation or dream work and past life work. It has been used to protect against psychic attacks, but is not as effective alone, as when used with other protection stones.
Amethyst has also been used to help ease the pain of grief. It is reputed to be useful when working through money issues and legal problems.
It’s also been called a stone of prosperity and abundance.

All forms of Agate are felt to be potentially powerful stones.
They are said to impart courage and increase energy levels in bursts, and so may be used when a big ‘push’ is needed.
Agate is used to enhance creativity and stimulate the intellect, and has been favored by students and artists.
It is considered a stone that brings good luck and is very calming and soothing. Agate may bring increased feelings of self-confidence and lessen feelings of envy, by grounding the energy and the emotions.
Agates are felt to support one’s love of, and harmony with, Nature.
Agates are the most well known stones for balancing the subtle energies and to assist with protection, (especially of children.)
Agate in general is a stone of inner harmony. It's thought that when you bring yourself into a place of inner harmony, the result can be an enhanced ability to heal oneself.
