This is a life-size African TIGER IRON crystal skull. Approximately the size of a human teenager or small adult. Shown next to a 355ml/12oz soda can for size comparison. Tiger Iron deposits aren't terribly thick when compared to other minerals like Quartz, so it's pretty rare to find really BIG pieces! (Particularly if they have been carved into decorative shapes!)
It has a lot of gorgeous shimmery areas that catch the light as you move the stone around in your hands, and is quite hefty from the Hematite content. Nice striping/banding all throughout. There are even small patches of of BLUE Tiger's Eye scattered throughout. They are a dark blue-grey in color, and mixed in with/around the Golden areas.
It weighs about 10lbs 3.9oz and measures approximately 8" inches long X 5" inches wide X just under 6" inches tall. Code-112123-21361
There are some small organic spots that come from inclusions or the edges of inclusions that were close to the surface as the stone was polished. ALL inclusions present come form 100% natural formations in the stone. I inspect each crystal very carefully before photographing it, and always pick by energy first. They can resemble pinpricks / tiny indents, fine lines, or shallow notches. These do not affect the energy or, I think, the overall look. Some people do not appreciate natural inclusions. I think it adds to the overall effect to have the natural inclusions in place. It takes a skilled carver to work with and honor the natural the stone and not break the inner energy matrix. (But that is a personal preference!)
Blue Tiger Eye AKA Hawk's Eye is often used to support honest and clear communication. It is thought to help one manifest the courage to bring their innermost hopes and practical ideas into fruition.
It is also felt to assist one in working through depression and in the development of emotional balance.
Blue tigers eye is sometimes used for protection of the upper chakras.
Like Golden Tiger's Eye, it is also said to bring good luck to the one who wears or carries it.
Blue Tiger's eye is associated with the Solar Plexus, Throat and Third Eye Chakras.
