This is a Chrysotile in Serpentine Crystal skull. Chrysotile is a fibrous member of the Serpentine subgroup. My carvers and geologist friends have told me this mineral is NOT suitable for direct method (soaking) gem elixir preparations. As is the case with many minerals from all over the world, it contains traces of naturally occurring substances that are not suitable for ingestion/inhalation. Handle it with care and do not purposely file/grind/or break off pieces.
Rich, deep, greens are accented with lighter green and black marbling, plus the stripes/bands of white-ish Chrysotile. These bands become shimmery and reflect light beautifully as you move the skull around in your hands. This shimmery quality becomes more, or less, visible depending on how you hold the stone. This particular stone combination is sometimes being called "Silver Sheen Serpentine", or "Green Zebra Jasper" as trade names.
There may be a few tiny organic spots here and there from inclusions that were close to the surface as the stone was polished. ALL inclusions present are 100% natural, not defects. Check out how it works with subtle energies below.
It weighs about 1.7oz and measures approx. 41mm (1 9/16" inches) long X 27mm (1 1/16" inches) tall. Code-21470
Serpentine is sometimes also called “New Jade.” It’s a versatile stone, said assist with emotional cleansing, psychic abilities, and to attract romance and money.
Serpentine is an excellent stone for meditation and past life work.
It is also used when attempting to raise the Kundalini, as it is said to facilitate the rise of energy by opening a path, which eliminates or lessens the discomfort associated with the rise. But be very cautious and careful doing this!
In Crystal Healing, serpentine is used for issues with and injuries to connective tissue, parasitic infections, snakebite, poison, and venom. Don’t bet your life on this, however!
It is associated with the Heart Chakra.
Native legends speak of crystal skulls as an inheritance from ancient times. Said to “talk and sing” they are believed to carry messages for all mankind, including what may be discovered when we overcome our fear of death.
