This is a life size AMETHYST GEODE crystal skull. Shown next to a 12oz/355ml soda can for size comparison. Approximately the size of a toddler.
It weighs about 4lbs 6oz / 1.984kgs and measures approximately 5 3/4" long X 3 7/8" wide X 4 1/2" tall. Code-020623-20705
The Amethyst runs all throughout and around the head, and has a number of multi-colored HEMATITE inclusions mixed in. Including bright reddish orange, dark red, and black. Several VUGS, AKA "crystal cave inclusions", are present. Including in the right eye socket, back of the head, and right side of the head. Vugs are natural formations, and considered highly collectible. Dark blue-grey, smoky grey-brown, lighter blue-grey, and white banded AGATE is present throughout - this is the "rind" or outer shell of the Geode. Tiny black DENDRITIC inclusions are here and there in some of the Agate. They can resemble plant life but are actually composed of Manganese in this case. Shimmery areas and rainbows are present all over in various places, and catch the light as you move the stone around in your hands. Really lovely!

Besides the larger vugs, there are some small organic spots here and there from inclusions that were close to the surface as the skull was shaped. They may resemble pinpricks, small notches, or fine lines on the surface of the stone. ALL inclusions present come from 100% natural formations within the stone. The carver worked with the natural shape of the Geode throughout the entire piece.
Geodes are used to assist in effective communication and are said to facilitate astral travel. They are also thought to aid in the study of mathematics.
Amethyst is a stabilizing energy, thought to assist in learning to trust your connection to the Divine and acknowledge the Guidance received. It brings calm, inner peace, courage and balance. In this way, it can be useful in divination.
It also supports and assists in stopping self abuse. It has often been used as protection for travelers.
Amethyst is also associated with Angels and is an excellent stone for meditation or dream work and past life work. It has been used to protect against psychic attacks, but is not as effective alone, as when used with other protection stones.
Amethyst has also been used to help ease the pain of grief. It is reputed to be useful when working through money issues and legal problems.
It’s also been called a stone of prosperity and abundance.
In Crystal Healing, Amethyst is said to beneficial when overcoming any kind of addiction, compulsive behaviors and OCD.
It is associated with the Third Eye and Crown Chakra.
All forms of Agate are felt to be potentially powerful stones.
They are said to impart courage and increase energy levels in bursts, and so may be used when a big ‘push’ is needed.
Agate is used to enhance creativity and stimulate the intellect, and has been favored by students and artists.
It is considered a stone that brings good luck and is very calming and soothing. Agate may bring increased feelings of self-confidence and lessen feelings of envy, by grounding the energy and the emotions.
Agates are felt to support one’s love of, and harmony with, Nature.
Agates are the most well known stones for balancing the subtle energies and to assist with protection, (especially of children.)
Agate in general is a stone of inner harmony. It's thought that when you bring yourself into a place of inner harmony, the result can be an enhanced ability to heal oneself.
Many agates have similar properties, but look for a particular variety to see if that one is for specialized applications. Always pick the stone that you are strongly attracted to!
Dendritic inclusions combine the many useful qualities of the base stone with Manganese (black) and/or Iron (brown), which is the actual mineral content of the "plant life"-like inclusions.
They facilitate a harmonious relationship with Mother Earth, and a deeper connection with nature, including the Nature Spirits.
