This is a beautiful CHAROITE crystal ball / sphere. Shown next to a US quarter coin for size comparison. Charoite is one of my favorite stones! Thus far, it has only been found in Siberia, Russia. Although it was first reported in the 1940s, this mineral was not really known to the outside world until 1978. This is thought to be because that when discovered in the field, it's opaque and rather unassuming. This rare fibrous silicate mineral has lovely purple hues and an unusual, swirling, appearance with areas of cat's eye shimmer/chatoyancy. (A similar effect can be seen in other fibrous minerals, like Tiger's Eye.) This effect, plus the pretty purple coloring, makes some people think this is a synthetic or lab enhanced stone... but it's not! Another example of some of the amazing minerals that come out of Russia!
This particular sphere has a variety of shades of light to medium purple, a touch of black, hints of white, and some reddish brown. Some areas have hints of chatoyancy / shimmer that shows up as you move the sphere around in your hands. It does NOT come with a stand.
There are a few tiny organic spots, from inclusions that were close to the surface as the stone was polished. ALL inclusions present are 100% natural parts of the stone. Check out how it works with subtle energies below.

Charoite is called a "Stone of Transformation." It is a very powerful stone, aiding in the transformation and release of such negative emotions as anger and fear. It has been used to assist in letting go of fear and deep feelings of victimization by supporting the awareness of these emotions and moving towards transforming them into creativity, assertiveness, balance and courage. This may allow one to see themselves with more clarity.
It is a stone that supports the acceptance of self as well as others.
Charoite is thought to strengthen the connection between the heart and the crown Chakras, allowing the user to grow spiritually.
It has been used to enhance clairvoyance, precognition and to aid in removing entities.
In Crystal Healing it is used to support various ailments, from headaches and liver problems to heart and eye problems. It is a soothing, yet energetic stone. It has also been used to help with attention deficit disorders (ADD and ADHD.)
It is associated with the Crown and Heart Chakras.
