This is a polished slice of purple ARAGONITE from Spain. Shown next to a US quarter coin for size comparison. Absolutely beautiful! It has a lovely medium purple coloring with accents of white, and reddish orange (likely Iron deposits). The patterns/formations in the crystal are easily visible in this format, and very interesting. Tiny shimmery areas catch the light as you move the stone around in your hands, too. The faces have been polished, and the edges have been left natural. It would make a nice wire wrapping piece, or a cool focal point for a suncatcher. ALL inclusions present are 100% natural formations in the stone.
It weighs about 0.6oz and measures approximately 1 7/8" inches long X 1 1/2" inches wide at the widest point X about 3/16" inch thick. Code-21
Aragonite is considered to be one of the most sacred stones by many Medicine people.
It has long been used to assist one in receiving/perceiving communications and Guidance from Higher energies and planes, including Guides, Angels, Masters, etc.
Aragonite has been used to boost self esteem as well as physical energy levels and has long been chosen to aid in reducing anger, as well as to relieve stress and anxiety.
Aragonite is thought to increase vitality, boost overall energy, and focus the Will, which is useful in many situations, including meditation, and when preparing to do healing work.
It is also said to enhance patience, inner understanding and one's higher perceptions: in this way it can be useful in divination.
In Crystal Healing, Aragonite is often used to reduce feelings of anger, stress, and assist with chronic fatigue. It has been used for PTSD, in conjunction with other stones.
It's also one of the stones of choice for hair loss.
The Chakra it is associated with depends somewhat on the color. This purple variety, sometimes called Violet Aragonite, is associated with the Crown Chakra.
Native legends speak of crystal skulls as an inheritance from ancient times. Said to “talk and sing” they are believed to carry messages for all mankind, including what may be discovered when we overcome our fear of death.
